Walking Dead comes alive on Halloween

"The Walking Dead" has become quite a popular show over it's past two seasons, and now that the 3rd one is airing, it would be unreasonable not to mention how much people fell in love with zombies, or aka walkers. Ray Villafane and his team are pros at sculpturing and love to show off their brilliant talent on pumpkins, and this year is no different. The only difference is is that they took their imagination a bit further and expressed their love for Halloween through the biggest pumpkins in USA.

I mentioned these guys a year ago in my post "Halloween in November" when I first stumbled upon their art and I loved what they came up with. I thought that they did their best when it came to pumpkin designs, but who knew that they wouldn't stop at what they already did? Since these guys are sculptures I am not surprised at how far they can go to achieve perfection in the objects of their interest.

You have to admit that going from something "simple" like this...
...To something THIS extraordinary is pretty amazing, to say the least!

If you are interested to know more about these guys, I suggest you check out their website www.villafanestudios.com to find out more about them.

Happy Halloween!

3D Portraits

Hi People,

Sorry for not being here for a while. My absence is explained by a load of  daily homework and tests. Also there wasn't really anything that I wanted to share with you, BUT I did find something that was worth sharing.

Andrew Myers, an American artist, creates 3D portraits of humans, using screws on a plywood. To make one of these portraits, it takes him around 23 days and approximately 10,000 screws. The 3D effect is achieved my the different levels (or depth) of each screw. To make a finish touch, Andrew adds colour by painting on the details.

Enjoy.

Love or Hate

Love is a fountain of desire.
Desire a friend.
         Desire a partner.
                   Desire a family.
Desire that will satisfy the hunger for love.
Desire that will fulfil that emptiness within you.
Desire that will change you.
         Love.
         A little bit of love.
         That is all.
That is what we all want.
That is what we all need.
A desire for love cannot be held within,
it must be spilled,
spilled like a never-ending stream.
Stream that leads into the ocean,
ocean of people...
People are connected through love that is being shared, shared between us all.
          Love is binding.
          Hate is destructive.
It is a character in all of us that is present.
A character that can push forth actions.
Just like love, it is motivating.
A dark side.
         An angry side.
                   A vicious side.
         Love. Hate.
Two opposites that have several similarities.
Love drives. Hate drives.
Two similarities that can lead to obsessive conclusions.
Both are dangerous when the line is crossed.
         Love. Hate.
Both opposites that are best to be kept in harmony.
         No extremes.
                    No complications.

Happy Holidays

Afternoon everyone,

It's very hard for me to believe that it's Christmas already! And in a week its going to be New Year's. It feels unreal probably because its been a tough year for many people that I know, and so we all can take a deep breath and finally enjoy this lovely evening with family and friends. I celebrate Christmas on January 7th but because I have
been living in Canada for 8 years now, I also greet this day with my family.

For me New Year's celebration is more important than any other holiday, or even my birthday for that matter :) It's a day when I can recall on all the significant moments that happened in the closing year, and placing new hopes and goals for the coming year. Its just a little something that helps me to remember all of the positive things that happened. Forget about recalling on the bad!

I really wanted to upload a picture of my Christmas tree because it looks simply amazing, but the pictures didn't turn out so well. So I found a way to compensate my readers by posting lovely pictures that symbolise the coming holidays.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Merry Christmas with your friends and/or family, and Happy New Year! Best Wishes.
See you all in 2012.
